Grand Prize
Abdelhak Benallou, 4th-year student at the Beaux-Arts de Paris at the Stéphane Calais studio, is the recipient of the Grand Prize, which comes with a cash award and a residency at the Villa Albertine in Chicago.
Explaining his practice he said: "My work as a painter is built on realistic practice. I am, above all, interested in the search for visual narration more so than by technical aspects. After trying several mediums, I now work in oil paint on series portraying various themes. Through my paintings, I am attempting to develop a reflection on behaviors and relationships in society, on the evolution between generations both from a human and technological point of view, drawing inspiration from my daily life."

SARR Prize
Sofía José Salazar Rosales, 4th-year student at the Beaux-Arts de Paris at the Tatiana Trouvé and Petrit Halilaj & Alvaro Urbano studios, was awarded the SARR Prize. To synthesize her work she wrote down these words: "There are bodies tired from the journey that seek to take root". Her interest is in the potential of objects to reveal social and economic contexts, particularly those concerning the displacement of humans and objects. Her pieces are nourished by materials, such as packaging, evoking the memory of travel, resistance to weight, and protection.

SARR Prize
Jérémie Danon, 5th year student at the Beaux-Arts de Paris at the Julien Sirjacq studio, was awarded the SARR Prize. The individual, his identity, and the place given to him by society are at the heart of his work. Through the encounters and relationships he's developed, he immerses himself in universes that are not his own. His practice reflect time and moments shared via photography, painting and video, synthesizing his observations and questions. In an approach at the crossroads of documentary and plastic, his installations make it possible to directly present the words and stories in which he is the mediator.

Goslar Kaiserring
Artist and filmmaker Isaac Julien received this year’s Goslar Kaiserring award, which has been awarded to international contemporary artists annually since 1975 by the German city of Goslar.
In a statement, the prize’s jury said Julien "breaks down barriers between different artistic disciplines by drawing from film, dance, photography, music, theatre, painting and sculpture and uniting them in a highly sensual visual narrative. Julien’s work deals with important social and human issues of our time—racism, migration, diversity, queerness, homophobia and chauvinism—and encourages us to rethink and explore social responsibility."
