Flavien Delbergue
Eyes on Talents member, Flavien Delbergue, founded his design studio in Paris in 2016. His designs – whether objects, furniture or spaces – are carefully crafted, striking a balance between craftsmanship, materials and spirit. On the occasion of the 4th edition of Le FRENCH DESIGN 100, Studio Flavien Delbergue was awarded for B. Initial, an oak cabinet edited by Collection Particulière. The shingle – or shake – is one of the treasures of traditional French architecture. Hand-split chestnut shingles are used to protect roofs, walls and bell towers, making them one of the most durable and environmentally friendly roofing materials. This ancient technique, deeply rooted in the rural landscape, has been reimagined by Flavien Delbergue in the form of a cabinet designed as a treasure chest. Entirely covered in oak shingles, B. Initial is an unusual, ornamental and sculptural piece of furniture, whose hues evoke the passing of storms and seasons with poetry and subtlety.
