Marc Venot

Eyes on Talents member, French industrial designer Marc Venot, is one of 39 contemporary designers whose work has been added to the Mobilier national's collections this year. Armchairs, tables, consoles, and lamps, 60 objects have joined the collections. Announced at the end of January, the 2026 corpus gives pride of place to ceramics. Represented in various forms, the medium, which had been in minority in past acquisition campaigns, reflects the expansion of the Parisian institution, now integrated into the Manufactures nationales, with the Cité de la céramique - Sèvres & Limoges. Marc Venot's Paravent lamp is a representation of this evolution, an elegant and poetic invitation to play with Limoges porcelain and light. Developed in close collaboration with the manufacturer Mérigous in Limoges, the Paravent lamp consists of six Limoges porcelain fins mounted on a lacquered steel base. Each fin rotates freely on its axis, allowing users to create their own configuration with a simple gesture. A hand-blown glass diffuser creates a play of reflections, shadows, and light that reveals the richness and changing colors of the porcelain.
