Paris Photo, Les Échos Week-End and we are_ have announced the winners of the first edition of the Prix Duo: Marina Gadonneix and Galerie Christophe Gaillard. The award recognizes a collaboration of at least three years between a photographer and their gallery. Marina Gadonneix explores what lies before the image, diverting documentary photography to reveal the invisible. Galerie Christophe Gaillard supports emerging artists and major heritage funds with an international and committed presence.

Paris Photo–Aperture PhotoBook of the Year
At Paris Photo, The Classroom by Hicham Benohoud was named Paris Photo–Aperture PhotoBook of the Year. In the early 1990s, Hicham Benohoud was a jaded high school art teacher in Marrakech. Like his students, who came from underprivileged backgrounds, he felt trapped by the stultifyingly rigid power structures of postcolonial Morocco. He started to improvise photoshoots, transforming his four-hour class into a site of joyful photographic ingenuity and hands-on learning. Made between 1992 and 2002, the black-and-white photographs show Benohoud’s pupils posing against makeshift backdrops and behind paper cages, at desks stacked atop other desks, with Hula-Hoops and in surreal outfits crafted with long cardboard tubes or plastic bags, their faces often playfully obscured.

Latitudes
The Fondation d'entreprise Hermès created Latitudes, an international program to support contemporary photography, in partnership with the Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson (Paris) and the International Center of Photography (New York). Ivorian photographer Nuits Balnéaires is the winner of this second edition. Thanks to this support, the artist produced Eboro, a new series that traces his origins using a metaphorical approach. His project will be presented at the ICP, then at the Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson in spring 2026.

Susan Meiselas is the winner of the Prix Henri Cartier-Bresson pour l’ensemble de l’œuvre. This award honors artists whose work has had a profound impact on the history of photography. Susan Meiselas was recognized for her deeply committed work. Her iconic project Nicaragua, dedicated to the popular uprising that overthrew dictator Anastasio Somoza, will be the subject of an exhibition at the Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson in the fall of 2026.

Prix Henri Cartier-Bresson d’aide à la création
The 14th Prix Henri Cartier-Bresson d’aide à la création went to Tarrah Krajnak for Dislocations (working title). In this project, she revisits the sites photographed by Lewis Baltz in New Industrial Parks near Irvine, CA and stages her own body. In doing so, she questions the political and social legacy of these industrial landscapes and the contemporary violence against marginalized communities in the Trump era. Her exhibition will be presented at the Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson in 2027.

Yann Kebbi is the winner of the first edition of the Prix Françoise Cauvin-Monet - Académie des beaux-arts, which will now be awarded each year to a drawing artist working with the world of illustration. The jury members were particularly impressed by the world depicted in his latest book, « J’aime bien le train, on a le temps de regarder » [I like the train, you have time to look around], published by éditions 2042.

Tania Willard is the winner of the 2025 Sobey Art Award. "Rooted in Secwépemc knowledge, values and aesthetics, Tania Willard’s multifaceted practice challenges us to expand our understanding of contemporary art and the role of the artist. She harvests berries to make ink drawings, harnesses wind and fire to compose poems and operas, and builds worlds with her BUSH Gallery collaborators. In the face of precarity, scarcity and conflict, her work offers a model of sustainability, abundance and connection. Above all, she amplifies the power of the land." The winner of the 2025 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund is Ashlynn Park of Ashlyn, who last week won the Emerging Designer of the Year Award at the CFDA Awards. Ashlynn Park competed against Julian Louie of Aubero and Stephanie Suberville of Heirlome. Founded in 2020 by Park, Ashlyn is known for its modern tailoring and design ethos that respects time, people and the environment. Her prior experience included working for Yohji Yamamoto, Issey Miyake and Raf Simons at Calvin Klein. What began as a few pieces the first season has flourished into a full collection of conceptual, easy-to-wear separates, dresses and outerwear in fabrics like silk jersey and cotton sateen.

Ammodo Architecture Award
The second edition of the Ammodo Architecture Award has recognized 26 recipients for their contributions to socially and ecologically responsible design. The laureates include established offices as well as emerging collectives and community-led initiatives. Each recipient receives a grant to support the continued development of their projects. The chosen projects address diverse urban and rural contexts, tackling issues such as housing, education, ecological restoration and collective living. Common themes cover adaptive reuse, urban rehabilitation, the preservation of traditional knowledge and the restoration of natural systems.
