Alexandre Onimus

Eyes on Talents member, Alexandre Onimus, is a visual artist living and working in Paris. His work explores the materiality of images to give them a tangible presence. Using a variety of techniques, he alters the image, transforming it into a pictorial element. Stone, glass, metal, paper, ceramic - the artist carefully chooses the medium for each of his photographs. This search for interaction between the medium and the subject gives his works a distinctive singularity and underlines his attachment to craftsmanship. His Homme soleil, a cyanotype work, fuses the aesthetics of printmaking with the texture of marble. The metamorphosed image reveals blue hues and hidden mysteries, making the photographic work ever more real and sensitive. Alexandre's aesthetic is influenced by the idyllic landscapes and sea spray of Corsica. His work, imbued with a subtle poetry, revolves around the body, the relationship with nature and the sensibility that surrounds us.
