Baptiste Meyniel

Nicolas Verschaeve

Eyes on Talents members, Baptiste Meyniel and Nicolas Verschaeve, are the two curators behind the exhibition Aléas, pratiques de l’adaptation [Hazards, adaptation practices], on view until August 3, 2025 at the JAD gallery in western Paris. The exhibition brings together around thirty works, showcasing a diversity of creative approaches in dialogue with the unexpected. From the design of an object to the development of public spaces, designers and craftspeople demonstrate their ability to compose with their resources and environments. The attention they pay to materials, techniques, tools, uses and the living reflects a shared attitude: an agility to constantly reinvent methods and engage with the world around us.
Baptiste Meyniel and Nicolas Verschaeve met soon after their respective degrees and immediately shared a number of common interests, with their career paths evolving in parallel. Both designers and teachers, they wanted this exhibition to be a shared reflection on the posture of the designer, marked by the ability to let go and deal with the unexpected by listeing to the contexts or potentialities present.⁣
