Classical, traditionally hand sewed, leather gloves with sociocultural and politically incorrect message. Aiming to throw attention to widespread silencing and cancelling culture.
The surface of the gloves has been made of leather scraps (ribbed to leather "thread"), Tunisian crochet technique. The
clove has a pocket for plastic cards as a wallet.
Aesthetic of colors is inspired of Helene Schmitz photo "Aitik Copper and Ice" (2017), a copper mining in Sweden. The frozen copper mining has a visual as shimmery-frozen and broken mountain is bleeding.
H. Schmitz quote "We are just beginning to recognize what we are going to loose" has got another layer of darkness in the moment of time when the Glove project has been executed, the year 2021.
