Wendy Andreu

Eyes on Talents member, Wendy Andreu, is a French craft designer based in Pantin. Trained in metalwork, she seeks to experiment and explore materials and techniques, openly considering the links between matter, people and space. On the occasion of the 4^th edition of Le FRENCH DESIGN 100, she received the Special Design Mention for her Squeeze Vases series. The Squeeze series was created during a residency at the Centre international de recherche sur le verre et les arts plastiques (Cirva) in Marseille, where Wendy explored glass moulding and casting. Her process-led approach prioritizes form over function: she builds metal structures as moulds for blown glass and experiments with colour combinations to test their strength and compatibility. Embracing the unpredictability of glass, she lets the material shape the outcome, resulting in unique pieces defined by chance in a controlled environment.
