Carla Rossi
Eyes on Talents member, Carla Rossi, took part in the 10th edition of the PhotoVogue Festival, which was held at the Biblioteca Nazionale Braidense in Milan from 1 to 4 March, with a series of exhibitions, round tables, and presentations. This year, the festival returned to its first theme, the female gaze, reframing it for contemporary times, challenging the idea of linear progress, and asking artists what it means to see as a woman. As part of the PVF 2026 Conversations, Carla Rossi joined the panel discussion Bellissima: Beauty, Fashion, and the Making of Spectacle. The talk examined how femininity is constructed, performed, and consumed through beauty, fashion, and media. In her work, Paris-based Italian photographer Carla Rossi explores how identity is constructed and performed in contemporary image culture. Using photography as a stage, she observes how gestures, poses, and appearances are created, repeated, and choreographed, often collaborating with performers or aspiring young people. Drawing from fashion and the image industry, Rossi reflects on belonging, self-value, intimacy, beauty, and self-awareness within shared visual languages of youth and identity.
