Maicah Cabello is a designer whose garments metamorphose the body with the natural world. Drawing from her experiences of growing up surrounded by California’s nature, Maicah’s practice focuses on researching scientific systems. By using a variety of natural dyeing techniques, creating sculptural wea
rables, and experimenting with biomaterials, Cabello transforms the body by blurring the line between botany and anatomy with silhouettes and organic textures. Through her work, she aims to call attention to how an individual's state of existence is heavily interwoven with our surrounding ecosystems.
